International AMD
& Wind Check system
The
"International" AMD system. Developed to meet the needs
for FAI Approved Category 1 and 2 events, this integrated system has all the
facilities required, AMD system, Wind speed / direction and competition clock.

The score box is the control center and display unit for the AMD,
a microprocessor scans each pad at a rate of 1,000 times per second, our unique
operation mode switch lets you select any one of the 4 modes; Training
Mode, Individual mode, 4 person team or 5 person team.
The score box has an 8 or 12 seconds automatic reset feature, a
multi-function hand
control unit is included, this hand control allows the event judge to clear a
score for another competitor to land or to enter a score of 16cm if the
competitor is not on the target.
The power supply is provided by a
12v long life battery. We supply 2
batteries with each system and a 110/230V worldwide battery charging
system.
Our system has it's own solar charging unit with a
dedicated voltage regulator which constantly supplies charging
power to the battery system. This combination of solar power and our superb battery will never let
you down.
The
International AMD system
comes with the integrated Wind Check anemometer / wind vane and
mast kit, 3x 35cm score pads and 1x 1.2m rear foot strike area,
Wind sock and mast kit and Wind streamer, Solar
charging system, 2x 12v Batteries and charging unit, Custom
built airline transit case. All cables included.
This complete
system including the Texair inflatable tuffet and fan unit is
available as a rental package. See
Prices and Terms for
more details.
Why
our "Wind Check" system is the best. |

The
Anemometer
We use a
cup anemometer because it is the meteorological industry standard, it is
easy to calibrate and as a competitor you can see it working, "competitor validation" is an important feature, one
that we acknowledge and respect.
Specifications
· Conical cups measuring 51
mm (2 inches in diameter)
· Rotor diameter is 190 mm (7.5 inches)
· Standard AC output, frequency proportional to cup rotational speed
· Shielded AC pick-up coil, 4100 turns of #41 wire
· Four-pole Indox 1 magnet rotates with the cup assembly
· Fully hardened beryllium-copper shaft running in self-lubricating
modified Teflon bearings.
Our
anemometers are calibration tested at
the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Wright Brothers wind
tunnel

The Wind
vane
The wind direction vane is the industry
standard used worldwide. The thermoplastic
and stainless steel components resist corrosion and contribute to a high
strength-to-weight ratio. The vane is directly connected to a precision
conductive potentiometer located in the main body. An analog
voltage output directly proportional to the wind direction is produced
when a constant DC excitation voltage is applied to the potentiometer.
The Mast system

|
Our 7m mast allows the
anemometer
to record accurate and reliable measurements. Measuring the wind conditions
at 7m a.g.l. gives accurate information about wind conditions
affecting the competitor while on final approach and over the tuffet.
The 7m mast with it's precision accuracy wind sock gives an accurate reading
when ground winds are more than +2m/s.
When the ground wind speeds are below 2m/sec our
5m long Wind Streamer at 8m agl
gives a true indication of wind direction.
Our practical and cost effective systems meet F.A.I.
specifications, are easy to view from the air and the target area, our wind indicators give an
accurate and reliable wind direction at all times.
We
pay attention to details so that you get the best quality and most cost
effective equipment available.
Our mast system is designed to be
easy to assemble and simple to use.
