
The basic system is very simple to set up, make sure the 12v battery is charged before you use it, connect the battery, connect the mains power supply, the battery charging is automatic, if the battery is low on charge the green "Charge" light will illuminate, once fully charged the red "Full" light will illuminate.
A fully charged battery will power the basic AMD for 15 hours of continuous use.
To use the Basic AMD system;
1. Place the battery inside the case and route the 12v power cable through the hole in the case, close and secure the case.
2. Locate the display onto the two mounting bolts in the case lid.
3. Connect the power supply. 12v Battery and /or 110-240v Mains*.
The Basic AMD system works with a 12v 20ahc rechargeable battery and /or 110/240v mains power. The basic system is supplied with an internal 110/240v battery charging unit and connector leads, you can operate the system on battery power or on mains power.
If both power supplies are connected at the same time the mains power will trickle charge the battery and if the mains power fails, the display will automatically switch to using the battery supply, battery life is upto 15 hours of continuous use.
4. Connect the pad.
5. Connect the remote hand control reset cable.
The Reset button resets the display ready for the next competitor. The Missed Score button allows the display to show as score of 16cm.
6. Toggle the "Display Power" switch to ON.
The display will show that the power supply is active by showing two red horizontal bars in the centre line of the display.
7. Carry out a finger pressure "push test," and test the pad sequentially from 00 through to 16cm, a 00 score will activate the DC alarm for 10 seconds, press the reset button to cancel the alarm and clear the score, each successive score will display for 10 second or press the reset button to clear the display.
8. Position the pad on the tuffet, use the 4 tie down points to secure the pad in the centre of the tuffet.
Battery management; If the "Low" power warning light illuminates,
you should charge the battery or replace it with a fully charged 12v
battery.
The female 2 pin connector marked as "Com" is for use when connecting the basic display to the "Competition AMD System" as a second score display.
*The mains power supply is to be used with due care when the system is outside, users who wish to connect their system in this manner MUST take appropriate electrical safety precautions.
Use of a 3 core, fully grounded electrical cable with suitable sockets for outside use and a residual circuit breaker device (not supplied) are mandatory.
Whilst the display unit is water resistant, every effort should be made to protect the display and it's power supply from water ingress, however should the display unit or the power cable(s) become wet it is advised that you disconnect the power supply at the power source and make every effort to fully dry out all the sockets and cable connectors before use.
