7m Mast / Anemometer / Wind Vane Manual

Mast

CAUTION; NEVER attempt to erect the mast when overhead cables are nearby. Operators must ensure that there are no electrical wires or cabling above the site which may come into contact with the mast.   This is an electrocution risk. 

WARNING - Always have 2 people to move the mast into the upright position. Do not attempt to erect the mast on your own.

The Anemometer and Wind Vane are pre assembled, calibrated and comes with 30m of cable.

Ensure the mast will be positioned within reach of the data cable!

1. Extend and lock the mast to 7m length.

2. Using the two black guy line ring connectors on the mast, attach a "V" line karabiner to the upper ring and the other to the lower ring.

3. Clip the ground peg guy line to the free running ring on the "V" line.

4. Insert the anemometer / wind vane assembly into the top of the mast and lock into position, route the data cable down through the karabiner snap hooks.

5. Carefully move the mast into a vertical position.

6. Take up any slack in the guy lines and peg down the guy lines at 120 degree arcs,

7. Carefully adjust the position of the mast base so the mast is vertical.

8. Connect the data communication cable.

9. Using a magnetic compass; Rotate the mast so that the display wind direction reading is the same as the actual ground reading.
